This old house has witnessed
many additions and changes over the years, not the least of which is
the fact that it originally stood on the other side of the street.
In 1994 the non-profit Upper Lehigh Historical Society was formed to
care for the property and to promote educational opportunities for
the larger community |

The Schneck
House

The local tax rolls of 1798 show two log houses listed. One was a
large structure, and one had dimensions approximating The Schneck
House, but of only one story. The existing house, however, shows
evidence of having been expanded to include another story and a half
as is evident today.
